This piece is a continuation in my research on using accelerometers for musical performance, as well as computer-assisted composition. It incorporates improvisation elements and generative algorithmic writing, while live electronics transformations extend the sound of the instruments. The revised version was the subject of my doctoral dissertation at DXARTS.
The piece is scored for flute, oboe, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin and cello. Performers also wear motion sensors, enabling direct control of the computer-transformed sounds.
Realized with the support from DXARTS.
