Interactive Sound Installation and Performance

This new work, commissioned by Seattle Symphony and created specifically for the Octave 9: Raisbeck Music Center, took listeners on a 6-hour journey through sound environments reimagined in this particular space. Throughout the night, it alternated between multi-modal open-ended interactive sound installation and live-coding electronic music performance. The composer controlled and manipulated musical processes developing autonomously and semi-autonomously according to predefined and stochastic procedures. The audience was invited to freely switch between watching, listening, and dreaming.

Realized with the support from DXARTS.

This is a short excerpt mixing numerous sections from the 6-hour performance. The original was realized in the Ambisonic spatial audio system.
