Tide for orchestra is inspired by the rising and falling movement of waves on the ocean’s surface. The title is related to the prevalent kind of musical gesture used in the piece: increasing and decreasing rhythmic density and pitch range. The pitch and rhythmic material was composed with the aid of specially designed algorithms.
